Paper sizes in inches: A3, A4, A5, A6 and the sizes printers use
A3, A4, A5 and A6 in inches and millimetres, plus common Indian print sizes like 13 × 19 and 23 × 36, and which size suits pamphlets, letterheads and posters.
Paper sizes confuse many buyers because some are named (A4) and others are given in inches (13 × 19). Here is a simple reference.

|---|---|---|---|
| A3 | 297 × 420 | 11.7 × 16.5 | Small posters, charts |

| A5 | 148 × 210 | 5.8 × 8.3 | Pamphlets, flyers, notepads |
| A6 | 105 × 148 | 4.1 × 5.8 | Thank-you cards, postcards |
Why our A4 and A5 are given in inches
Printers in India cut from large standard sheets measured in inches, such as 23 × 36 in. Cutting these sheets evenly gives sizes very close to A4 and A5: our A4 is 8.5 × 11 in and our A5 is 5.5 × 8.75 in. They fit standard files and envelopes and use the paper with no waste, which keeps prices low.
