How a print job is made: from your file to your doorstep
What happens after you place a printing order: file check, proof, prepress, printing, finishing, quality check, packing and delivery, explained simply.
When you press "Order", your job goes through several careful stages before it reaches you. Knowing them helps you understand delivery times and why approving the proof matters so much.
1. File check
We check that your file is the right size, has 3 mm bleed, keeps text inside the safe area and that images are sharp enough. If a logo is blurry or text is too close to the edge, we tell you before going further.
2. Proof and approval
You receive a proof: an exact preview of what will be printed. This is your last chance to correct spelling, phone numbers and prices. Nothing is printed until you approve it, and our guarantee is tied to this approved proof.
3. Prepress
Small items like pamphlets and cards are not printed one by one. Many copies are arranged together on one large sheet so the job runs efficiently. For offset printing, a printing plate is made for each colour.
4. Printing
The sheets are printed in four colours (CMYK). For both-side jobs the sheets are dried and then printed on the back. Large runs use offset printing; visiting cards and thank-you cards are printed digitally.
5. Finishing
The printed sheets are cut to size and then finished: lamination, round corners, punching holes for tags, spiral or metal bar binding for calendars.
6. Quality check and packing
Every job is inspected for colour, cutting and count before it is packed. Printing allows a small tolerance of ±5% in quantity, paper GSM and size, which is normal across the industry; you are billed on the quantity actually delivered.
7. Delivery
Your order ships by courier with tracking anywhere in India, or you can collect it from our printing press in Delhi.
How long does it take?
The clock starts once you approve the design and pay. Most products are ready in 3 working days, single-sheet and wall calendars in 7, and desk and daily calendars in 10. Courier time is added on top.
